Please use masking tape next time. Also, that’s fantastic!

Love it! Great job!

There will be a white band board that goes there. I’ll post final photos next weekend. A small cove crown at the top and a ‘picture molding’ where the Orange and Blue meet.

Very nice. I used to buy and sell houses for a relocation company, and I can’t tell you how many weird paint schemes I’ve ordered painted over. I’d have left this one in place, however, because I know what it means.

Oh great! Sorry about the critique. This is a fantastic idea that I may steal when I have kids.

I may just steal this idea with Martini colors in the future. Great job!

Never, ever...ever ever did I think someone with a kid could make me tots jelly. That’s fantastic.

Nicely done!

It is amazing what people will do to their houses. We bought our house in 2010, after the housing bubble popped. We probably looked at almost a hundred houses. It was insane the amount of Tradin Spaces inspried bull shit “renovations” people had destroyed their houses with.

We talked about Martini but the really good Martini colors use silver and lots and lots and lots of taping. We weren’t that brave considering our timeline.
I have another on the way, so maybe someday he or she will want silver red and blue

I will accept your compliment suspiciously. I know you’re a biased source. ;-)

Parenting. You are winning.
That’d be awesome. A Martini room and a Gulf room.

We love saturated color as a family. We expect to tone most things down when it.comes time to sell.
Our last house had a bedroom painted about this color blue with a dark inky blue ceiling for a night sky. Yeah. That got painted white prior to going on the market.

Who me? Biased? Well, maybe just a little.

We’re shopping for an apartment right now. The market here is strange - agents don’t seem very interested in showing you the apartment. We’re going to see this tomorrow - check out the palm tree. The kitchen is barely acceptable, but the bathroom has to be demo’d and redone. And yeah, it’s a lot of money, but we have no car payment, insurance, etc. etc. And it’s 200 yards from the 1/2/3 train.

Now I need to repaint my room :D
You are going to add Gulf signs on the wall?

Somebody spent a lot of money to make that ugly bathroom.
The cabinet profile is lovely, but the color is dull. Have a pro spray the cabinets a color (maybe denim blue) and put in walnut counters in lieu of stone. In my imagination, it’s great. The function is there.
The floors are amazing. Just the right amount of variegation.
And of course that zip code. That counts for sump’en

Not Gulf signs but I’m thinking at least a roundel. Maybe with a G instead of a number.

It is not as good a location as we have now (74th and Amsterdam, near Broadway), but we don’t own the apartment. We could, easily, but the GF says it’s too small. And yeah - someone probably spent ... 10 grand to make that bathroom that ugly? If it was recent, more. As for the kitchen cabinets, I can have any sort of improvements I want as long as they’re the improvements she wants. I lose the battles and the war, but that’s OK. She’s got good taste.

We have different ideas of barely acceptable :)
Then again my budget is on a completely different plane of existence. My house, three cars, and camper total out at about $240k.

We have next to no insurance and no car payment - still, it’s a lot of money. But with a tiny (and I mean tiny) inheritance and a cheap mortgage through work, we can do it. So between us, tomorrow, we’re off to see 4 apartments. If one of them clicks, the other one of us will be there with a checkbook.
Did I mention that I want this over with?

The shopping and buying process is pretty miserable. If our offer hadn’t been accepted on the house we’re in, I was going to reup the lease on our rental house. After seeing around 100 places, and having offers rejected on three others, I was done with it all.

When I bought my condo in DC in the 90s, I looked at 4, made an offer on the first one, and moved in 3 weeks later. It doesn’t have to be this hard.
